KEMPO - 'Fist Law'

The Kempo we teach at this club has, like any other martial art, evolved from an earlier style, in this case from Shaolin Kempo.

Kempo is the 'core' fighting skill taught at Fudoshin, however it has been traditional and is indeed vital for any martial art to grow and develop to better suit the times and environment in which it is being practiced.

At Fudoshin we use what works well and effectively from other arts and styles and will not be bound by the rules or politics of any one organisation that are at odds with  the 'real' world of practical self defence.

So we have incorporated, developed and refined aspects from other fighting arts while still retaining the principles and traditions of Kempo. We have actively searched out and evaluated new tactics, strategies, techniques and training methods so that we can continue to offer our students a truely comprehensive and contemporary martial art system.

This is the current trend of mixed styles in the martial arts and while we agree with it in principle we also think it is important not to lose sight of the traditional aspects of the individual style and to respect those Masters who have gone before us.
